影片改編自塩田武士的同名推理小說，以昭和年間最大的未解決事件為主題，講述新聞記者阿久津英士（小栗旬飾）和少年時期與該事件有關聯的男人曾根俊也（星野源）之間的故事。
追蹤昭和最大未解決事件的新聞記者阿久津英士（小栗旬飾）在探尋過程中發現犯罪團夥用某錄音帶威脅企業。在京都，子承父業的曾根俊也（星野源飾）經營著壹家裁縫店。在父親的遺物中找到壹卷磁帶，在那裏發現了自己兒時的聲音。偶然得知自己幼時曾與昭和時代最大的未解決事件發生過關聯。
