陌路姊妹 怨恨難消
乾隆晚年間，同為豪門鈕祜錄氏出身的兩姊妹如玥(鄧萃雯飾)和宛琇(伍詠薇飾)本應一同參加的選秀。但因如玥病倒，所以妹妹宛琇只好獨自一人應選，雀屏中選後不消三年便升為淳嬪。因為按照清例妃嬪的姊妹可免選秀，所以如玥可自由婚配，而輾轉間如玥成了永琰的妾侍，在永琰即位後更被封為如妃。
宛琇一直認為如玥當年是有心詐病，把自己推給年老的乾隆來逃避選秀，所以對她心懷怨恨，更散播種種有關如玥的流言蜚語，希望能損害她的名聲，以達至報復的快感。然而如玥對於宛琇不時造謠損害自己的名聲雖感無奈，但明白到宛琇內心的不平衡與自已有著莫大關係，對於妹妹的各種報復行動總是處處包容，並為其善後。直至一民間崑曲戲班被召入宮內表演，而戲班中的風流老倌高流斐(陳豪飾)更被如玥發現宛琇和他經常眉目傳情時，為了家族和妹妹的名聲，如玥決定要不擇手段阻礙二人來往。……
