【劇情介紹】：   

　　湯姆·布萊克（傑夫·布裡吉斯飾）曾是一位叱吒風雲的鄉村音樂歌手，然而他卻在事業的巔峰時期肆意消耗著自己的人生，結婚、外遇、離婚、酗酒、打人……他的公眾形象一天比一天惡劣，而民眾也給他取了一個綽號：「壞透的布萊克」。多年過去，布萊克已經步入蒼老，他也早已忘卻了自己當初對音樂的理想與熱情。

　　不過，在一位叫珍（瑪吉·吉倫哈爾飾）的記者看來，布萊克其實只是在逃避自己，她堅持要幫助布萊克擺脫酒精的荼毒，讓他重新在舞台上煥發光彩。布萊克在簡的鼓勵下，也開始逐漸振作起來，重新拿起了吉他。不過畢竟多年過去，今非昔比，眼下的時代已經截然不同，布萊克如何跟上時代是一個嚴峻的問題。過去布萊克的弟子，如今的搖滾巨星湯米·斯威特（柯林·法瑞爾飾）開始扶持自己敬佩的老師父重新走上音樂之路，而布萊克那顆早已冷卻的心也在週遭人的熱情澆注之下，再次瘋狂起來……
